Botivo Non Alcoholic Aperitif
Botivo is a delicious, bitter-sweet and complex non-alcoholic aperitif hand crafted from all natural ingredients. Inspired by ancient herbal remedies called 'oxymels', it is a blend of Raw Honey, Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, Gentian, Wormwood, Rosemary, Thyme & Orange Zest. Botivo places the utmost importance on preserving the natural flavour profile and integrity of well-picked, carefully treated and meticulously paired ingredients.
The Botivo brand was created in 2021 by Sam Paget Steavenson, the founder of cocktail consultancy the Rum Runner. Sam was looking for new recipes for non-alcoholic options and his research led him to the oxymels, the ancient herbal herbal tonics containing vinegar (as the acid) and honey. In the absence of alcohol, this adaptation offered the perfect medium for aromatic roots, fresh herbs and botanicals to rival a French aperitif or Italian amaro. The making process includes using traditional, centuries-old macerating techniques, as well as some elements unique to Botivo, allowing the flavour exchange from the aromatic roots and botanicals to the Botivo aperitif under precise conditions.
All ingredients are prepared and bottled on a farm in Hertfordshire and the makers are proud to have traceability to the source of the ingredients. Botivo contains no flavourings, no preservatives and nothing is pasteurised.
The 50cl bottle offer’s great value with 20 serves per bottle. It can be used in many cocktails but the refreshing signature suggestion is to serve with ice, sparkling water and an orange twist.
