Impress with the Mighty Truffle this Valentine’s Day!

Are you a Truffle lover, a Truffle virgin or just a bit unsure as to what to do with the mighty Truffle flavour!

Truffles have been used as an aphrodisiac throughout recorded history, with first accounts dating back around 4,000 years ago followed by the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Persians, and Romans, more recently with 19th and 20th century European Royal Families and Gourmets.

Here at That Pantry we love hearing about what our customers do with our range of ‘Truffle Hunter’ Truffle products we sell but if you are in need of Truffle inspiration or if you’re looking to impress this Valentine’s Day or just try something a bit different but not too complicated we’ve got the perfect recipe for you…..

Truffle Mac & Cheese for two:

• Preheat the oven to 220/200 fan/gas 7 and boil a kettle
• Add 100g Macaroni to a pot of boiled water with a large pinch of salt and bring to the boil over a high heat. Cook for 7-8 min or until cooked with a slight bite
• Grate 80g Cheddar Cheese
• Once the pasta is cooked and drained (keeping a cup of the starchy water), stir in in 100g Crème Fraiche and the grated Cheddar Cheese.
• Add a generous splash of starchy pasta water and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
• Transfer the cheesy macaroni to an over proof dish (use individual ones for fancy presentation!), top with 35g grated Italian Hard Cheese and drizzle with our Truffle Hunter - English Truffle Oil.
• Put the dish in the oven and cook for 15 minutes or until bubbling and golden!

Serve with a delicious sliced Sirloin Steak or with fresh sourdough bread and a balsamic Rocket and Tomato Salad a chilled Chardonnay or a good quality Fizz and enjoy!!
